Got my mounting bracket in for my radio yesterday and got it all mounted
up. Now that white cord REALLY shows up. Going to have to make a run to
Radio Shack at lunch to see if I can find something a little less visually
jarring. The mount is really solid and doesn't shake a bit when driving.
I'm going to make a bracket to hang the speaker right below it, so that
should clean things up a bit. Its looking really good.

New radio install

Didn't post these before because my G1 has a habit of saying its going to
send email, but then doesn't do it.
With that said, I had a great time visiting Shaun, Donna and Faye. Sure was
good to see them again!
Also checked out Jean Laffite's old absinthe house on bourbon street just to
see what they are doing now since the ban on absinthe has been lifted.
Well, I'll tell you what they're not doing, and that would be pricing their
drinks reasonably. I know absinthe is expensive, and its a historical
place, but WOW $14/drink is a bit much!

10m was dead, so that didn't work out too well. Used my travel tuner to
tune the 10m whip down to 20m and managed to make a contact to
Massachusetts. Not great, but proof it does work. Can't wait to get the
hi-q on the car and make some real contacts.
2m/70cm side worked good too, talked to several folks along the way, sure
made the trip more fun. The dual-band antenna on loan from dad really did
the trick.

10m rig installed!
Finally figured out an easy, no-holes method to mount the 10m rig. Holds it
very secure, and its also easy to see and reach. Sometimes I impress
myself!
